SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
Social skills are very important in child development and can have impact on development of hobbies, make friends, learn from others, and family relationships. Chilren with autism spectrum disorder should develop conversation skills, problem-solving skills, play skills. Social skill intervention should include:
- video modeling,
- power cards,
- social stories,
- rule cards,
- modeling and observational learning,
- teaching-turn taking,
- reinforcement systems,
- teaching specific-age appropriate skills.
